Here is the order of treadling. One will successively press the treadles 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and so on,by launching the shuttle between each press.

Finally, the fabric represents the weft (horizontal spacing)And the warp threads (vertical spacing).

The first thread (the one on the left) is passed on the first shaft frame (the farthest one)The second thread on the second frameThe third thread on the third shaft frameThe fourth thread on the fourth shaft frameThe fifth thread on the fifth shaft frame
The sixth thread on the the fourth shaft frameThe seventh thread on the third shaft frameetc.

The attachment indicates which treadles are tied to which shaft frames.
Here we have 8 treadles and 5 shaft frames

The first treadle (the one on the right) is attached to the shaft frames 1,3,4,5The second treadle is attached to the shaft frames 2,4,5The third treadle is attached to the shaft frames 3.5The fourth treadle is attached to the shaft frame 4The fifth treadle is attached to the shaft frame 5The sixth treadle is attached to the shaft frame 4The seventh treadle is attached to the shaft frames 3.5The eighth treadle is attached to the shaft frames 2,4,5

By pressing a treadle, the shaft frames attached to it will rise.

Tissu = Fabric - Remettage = Pass - Attachage = tying to the treadles - Pédalage = Treadling sequence

Pass is the process of passings successively each thread of the chain in the eyelet of a heald. The thread pased in the healds of the same shaft frame will rise all atthe same time when this shaft frame is actuated.
The sketch above indicates the sequence of pass which it will be necessary to repeat n times. The horizontal lines represent the shaft frames, and the vertical lines represent the warp threads.
Here, 5 shaft frames and 8 threads
By convention, the first thread is to the left and the first shaft frame is located at the bottom.
A black square represents a read thread, that is to say passed through a heald  of the shaft frame.

Attachage = Tying - Pédales = Treadles - Remettage = Pass
The weaving pattern is a graphical representation of the elementsnecessary to make a fabric. There are four elements:
- The fabric- The pass- The tying (from shaft frames to treadles)- The treadles sequence

The sketch below is very clear because it highlights the correspondences between the components of the loom and the graphic elements corresponding to them in the plot of armor.

The technical plot of the fabric
The plot of the fabric is the graphical representation of the elements to be knownTo be able to use a fabric to be manufactured. This is the basis of allWeaving, and beginners often have difficulty understanding this essential notion.
