Gesture 5: This thread is hung on the valet.

When all the threads of the servant's wick are restored, the sons of the valet are taken out and knotted together, then a new lock of threads is inserted into the servant, and the restoration is continued.

Gesture 4: Pull the thread through the mesh (smooth) with the hook.

Gesture 3: This thread is hooked to the hook passed through the mesh (smooth).

Gesture 2: The next thread is caught in the encroix, between the sticks.

The 5 good gestures of the remounting (or retraction):

Gesture 1: The next (smooth) mesh is caught and the hook is inserted.

Here is the position in which we will practice the reassembly (retraction).

In this picture, we see the threads already put back in 3, the wick of threads that we are putting back (it is she who is held by the servant) in 2, and the wires awaiting resetting in 1 .

We will use three tools to perform our remission. These three tools, illustrated above, are:
1- the valet2- the servant3- the hook (or heddle)
The valet consists of a bar of hard wood, the upper end of which is hooked on to a frame, and the lower end is pierced with a hole through which passes a string to which a weight is suspended. At the center of the hardwood bar is a piece of wood that will hold the threads as they are restored.
2- The servant is composed of three sandwich boards. The upper and lower boards are covered with velvet or felt only on the face in contact with the middle boards. The middle board is covered with velvet or felt on both sides. The servant's function is to hold the threads of the wick tightened. The wick is separated into two layers by means of the scraper. The upper sheet is passed between the top and center planks and the other sheet is passed between the board of the center and the lower board. A weight suspended from a string below the servant makes it possible to give pressure to the three sandwich boards and thus to keep the wick of the warp yarns tight, thus releasing a hand, as can be seen in the photo Below:

Remanufacturing or re-drawing
Remounting is the process of passing each thread of the chain, one after the other in the (smooth) meshes of the frames.
